Online Gambling and YouTube, What's the connection?

I could never imagine any YouTube video to do with online gambling until this happens. Yes, there are many online gambling, online casino games use YouTube as a platform to promote their gambling businesses. They might setup a YouTube channel and upload some promotional video there to attract new players. They might setup video ads campaign to place ads on many popular YouTube videos like our Spin4Profit videos. But I could never imagine someone place bets on YouTube video itself.

BetTube was just launched on March 1st to allow anyone to bet on the future success of any YouTube video. Many or most videos that people are betting on are nothing to do with online gambling at all. And you could submit any YouTube video to bet on. Right now they only allow people to use play money to bet. They said they will allow real money bet in the near future.

Is that new online gambling idea good? Will it lure anyone to form another online gambling addiction? Could it be a strategy to bypass American online gambling rules? Or, could it just be another video marketing platform? I would be very much interested to see how it goes.
